Hearing and listening look pretty much the same, but they do have the opposite effect.
According to study.com, hearing is the ability to use the ears alone. In contrast, listening is a skill that requires one to use the senses, including seeing, hearing, and the sense of touch. Hearing is physiological and only uses the ears, while listening is psychological and requires the use of the brain to interpret the message
The big question is! Are you a hearer or a listener?
We should be interested in hearing the word of God through scripture rather than pursuing God, believing He would give us all the answers we need in a single encounter.
What God is teaching us is how to wait on Him.
We are so much in a rush that we go to length to empress him for a single visit or have encounters with His Angels. God cannot be deceived; we want these encounters to much so as to have extra biblical stories to garnish our Sunday messages.
Don’t quit, and don’t give up. The reward is just around the corner. And in times of doubt or times of joy, listen for that still.
Mark Johnson
The world is full of deceit because people are told what they want to hear. The case is just like that of a lady who’s in a toxic and brutal relationship but refuses to leave just because she hears the word “I love you” from his accuser every now and then.
This is the real definition of suffering and smiling.
